Research in St Kitts and Nevis
There are a number of research institutions operating in St Kitts and Nevis, across several different disciplines. The Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI) aims to improve lives through agricultural research. The St Kitts and Nevis division of CARDI is involved mostly with research and development on vegetables and integrated pest management. In addition, the researchers at the University of the West Indies (UWI) working on the CARICOM Food Security Project work with St Kitts and Nevis’ Ministry of Education’s National School Dietary Services Ltd. As a CARICOM country, St Kitts and Nevis is a member of the Caribbean Health Research Council (CHRC) which works to promote and coordinate health research in the Caribbean. The Research and Documentation Unit of the government’s Department of Culture conducts research into the arts and traditions of the country.
